Aged Care facility celebrates Christmas carols, with a special appearance from a Paynters Site Foreman

Christmas is already in the air at Salem Aged Care, with the South Toowoomba nursing home treated to popular carols by a choir of their fellow residents.

Choir member Richard Webster said the concert wasn’t about singing perfectly, but rather sharing in the joys of music during Christmas.

Creative programs facilitator Chloe Tully said music was a powerful and fun way of helping aged care residents to maintain cognitive function.

“Music is such a great therapeutic tool, it assists with memory and agitation,” she said.

Once the carols wrapped up for the night, Paynters Site Foreman & DJ Kevin Douglass did a private show playing Elvis and Dean Martin songs as the residents relived their glory days, singing along to old favourites.
