Putting the finishing touches on housing project that supports NDIS participants

The Yooroonga NDIS housing project at Victoria Point is reaching completion, with the client incredibly impressed with the result! The facility comprises a cluster of 5 specially designed residences (1 x 1 bedroom, + 2 x 2 bedroom, + 2 x 3 bedroom), together with a detached office and alfresco area complimented by stunning landscaped outdoor areas including a covered shade structure. The houses are designed to allow the co-habitation of a group of people who receive funding under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and have been designed to the Fully Accessible standard under the NDIS requirements for Specialist Disability Accommodation.  The individual residents within each house, will have their own separate bedroom and ensuite bathroom with shared kitchen, dining, living and laundry facilities.

The complex is designed to allow residents supported through the NDIS to live as independently as possible, in a social environment with support from an on-site carer. All the buildings, pathways and landscaped outdoor areas have been designed to facilitate access for residents with disabilities. The complex will be operated by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, a client of Paynters going back over a decade.

This project is one of a number of projects that Paynters has delivered for the Seventh Day Adventist Church in South East Queensland. Paynters was also responsible for the 93-bed extension of the adjacent Adventist Aged Care facility and has recently completed design and development approval for a new maintenance facility and Independent Living Units at the Adventist Retirement Village in Victoria Point.
