Aged Care & Supported Living

The redevelopment project at NoosaCare in Tewantin comprised a new Administration Building as well as a 32 bed Special Needs Unit (two, 16 bed houses). The project demonstrated how practical and innovative design solutions addressed significant site and service challenges to produce an outstanding result.

Challenges included the inherently low nature of the site with overland flow and wetland conditions. In addition, Council assets beyond the site required upgrading, with considerable pedestrian and traffic civil works. During the design phase, significant replanning and restructuring of service delivery was undertaken which meant rethinking site access, site security and internal service provisioning.

Appropriate design responses were implemented to meet the current and future changing profile of NoosaCare residents. The seamless integration of the new Administration Building with the existing building and the harmonisation of the two Special Needs Buildings with the beautiful natural environment, exemplify how site and building upgrades can achieve appealing and attractive outcomes that really work and meet the client’s expectations.
