The evolution from a sugar cane paddock into the newest Queensland Government State High School Campus was the inevitable outcome for the strong growth of students entering years 7 – 12 in Mackay, Central Queensland.

Paynters successfully achieved the delivery of this Greenfield campus within a nine month period so that students would commence term one in 2013. We consider it is a testament to our capability of the project team to achieve extremely ambitious outcomes for our clients, regardless of the size of the project or the cost.

Included in the first stage of this development was the delivery of 20 stand alone structures including new administration services building, information resources building, 12 standard class rooms and three collaborative ICT rooms junior learning centre, junior applied technology building, separate food studies and hospitality building, new staff centre work rooms and facilities, book and uniform store, canteen and two extremely large covered outdoor eating courts, campus bulk store and maintenance staff building, grounds care and sports store which adjoins the
new playing field, two separate student amenities blocks, two separate covered bike shelters and feature entry structures. The campus also includes a new community category five multipurpose cyclone shelter which caters for both the public / emergency services operation and every day use of the school as it includes an indoor basketball court.
