The Paynters’ team worked closely with the client in value managing the design. In managing the project from the initial concept stage we were able to incorporate construction methods and materials that delivered the project eight weeks earlier than expected. Set on an 8,800m2 greenfield site abutting the Brackenridge Tavern, the 2,400m2 shopping centre was purpose-built to accommodate Woolworths and two commercial spaces of
130m2. The development also involved the construction of 167 car parking spaces, most with weather protection in the form of canopies.

It’s one thing when a hotel is incorporated into an existing shopping centre, it’s quite another when a shopping centre is incorporated into a hotel. Close on the heels of the Brackenridge Tavern’s unveiling of a Gloria Jeans coffee lounge, the opening of a Woolworths shopping centre on a neighbouring site offers consumers a combined shopping and entertainment experience.
