Biggest renovation in Club’s 41-year history

When they say “a picture speaks a thousand words” they are most certainly talking about the images you see here at Wynnum Manly Leagues Club (WMLC). What a magnificent new venue! Setting the benchmark is an understatement, as South-East Queensland’s newest Club renovation pulls out all the stops to delivery that WOW factor.

As the Managing Contractor, Paynters mission was to create a bold and sophisticated upgrade for the Bayside community to enjoy, collaborating with the talented design team at Cayas Architecture.

The project consisted of a major extension and renovation whilst maintaining full operation of the club, which required a staged construction & fitout. The staged works were timed to meet key dates in the Club’s calendar, including major events such as game days and festive holidays.

Fast forward 18 months to present day, the finishing touches are underway with creek widening works and the carpark extension near completion. In coordination with local council requirements, a major upgrade to the local Wynnum Creek has been undertaken, including creating a large detention system to slow down the local waterway.

Paynters has established a close relationship with WMLC, first successfully renovating their smaller neighboring club Fielders, and now completing their main club building, creating another ongoing commercial expansion to their business. This project has been an incredible venture for Paynters, adding to our Hospitality portfolio; one for the books & one that makes us very proud to be involved in!
