Country Cottage Model for Pittsworth’s Beauaraba Living

Paynters has recently completed the new Memory Support House at Beauaraba Living aged care facility in Pittsworth.

Designed in-house by Paynters as two country homes, the unit provides a unique environment to support the specific needs of older people with cognitive impairment and dementia.

Each house provides a home for 13 residents set within secure, landscaped gardens. The two houses are discretely connected for back of house services including storage, food and laundry delivery and other utility areas.

The level of detail of the interior design is a key success of the project. The achieved intent was to develop strong wayfinding and orientation cues that support residents with cognitive impairment to feel at ease and in control of their environment.

With residents now moved into their beautiful new home, our project team are moving on to the next phase of the project, a six-stage refurbishment of the existing Beauaraba Living site.
