It’s heart warming to see our Name the Crane competition well received by Mater Private Hospital Townsville children and their families. Paynters is currently onsite constructing the new multi-storey carpark, which will provide additional parking to the hospital community.

Well done to Henry on his winning entry, naming the crane “Lift Spirits” – we hope you enjoy your prize.

Congratulations to our mighty mini warrior Henry who has won our “Name the Crane” competition.

In collaboration with our design and construction partners at Paynters, we asked our wonderful Mater children and their families who are currently undergoing treatment to help us with a very important construction task: naming the crane!

It has been wonderful to see the entries rolling in, with the children enjoying being part of this community engagement activity. The tower crane is central to the new carpark works, which, when complete, will see an additional 400 carparks provided to the hospital community.

With so many wonderful and creative entries, our judges had an incredibly tough time picking the winner. We would like to congratulate 4-year-old Henry who is our official ‘Name the Crane’ prize recipient with his entry – ‘Lifts Spirits’!

Henry’s mum, Morgan, said the competition was a welcome distraction for her little boy while he was in recovering from surgery.

“Henry needed to have his tonsils removed as he had severe sleep apnoea,” she said. “He is a big fan of trucks and cranes, so he loved the competition. We did help him a little with the name, but it was his idea to do something with ‘Lift’.”
