Paynters Flex Retail Capability with Caltex

Paynters has just completed the highly anticipated Caltex retail precinct at the Ripley Travel Centre.

The facility, located at the junction of the Cunningham Highway and Ripley Road, includes a Caltex service station, as well as Caltex’s latest retail food concept ‘The Foodary’, the first in Queensland. The development also includes a new McDonald’s outlet with a McCafe and a number of other convenience stores.

Paynters General Manager Brett Johnston is thrilled that his team has played a key role in this landmark project.

“We are incredibly proud to have partnered with Caltex on this development. It was a great opportunity for Paynters to showcase our retail capability, and allowed us to show support for our local trade network in the Ipswich region.”

The team at Paynters has spent the last 12 months completing the 4 phase development contract at Ripley Gateway. The retail precinct, sub division, roadways & service station have made terrific progress, with Project Manager Rob Lanskey incredibly happy with the project team.

“The team have worked extremely hard to meet the practical completion date, with Service Centre, Subdivision and lead-in roads fully complete. The base building works were handed over, with the tenant’s fit-out contractors reaching completion. We’re very happy with the level of finish and final product achieved” said Mr Lanskey.

This state of the art retail precinct officially opened to the public in late September, with the Ripley development set to create many jobs for local community members.

Paynters Business Development Manager Chris Hall discusses the contractor’s local procurement initiatives throughout the construction phase.

“This is a significant project for the Ipswich region, with local industry participation a high priority.”

“Paynters endeavor to engage locals, and aim to give back wherever possible. For this development, we partnered with locally based landscapers Logan Landscapes to procure stock from the Salvation Army’s Social Enterprise Nursey at Riverview. The nursery provides job skilling and training, along with much needed funding for the Salvation Army an important initiative for us at Paynters” explains Mr Hall.
