Construction is progressing well on site at Mango Hill State Secondary College, with Paynters recently finalising the early structural phase of the works across all five buildings.

The build is being captured nicely by our timelapse cameras, situated in key locations across the site. With a busy schedule of activities ahead, we can’t wait to see this project continue to advance over the coming months! Upon completion, Mango Hill SSC will be home to a brand-new Performing Arts Centre, Food and Hospitality Centre, Art and Design Centre, Senior STEM Centre and Sports Precinct Amenities Building.

Take a look at the most recent video footage below, followed by a detailed summary of the works to date.

Project Update:

Block J – Soon to be the new Performing Arts Centre, the month of May saw the structural components emerge significantly. Now with slab on ground, the masonry walls and the mezzanine slab have also been poured at the southern end of the building. Six concrete precast beds were utilised to cast the precast panels, stacked five high, to be applied as the structure of the central building core. Once the tilt panels were lifted into position and braced, the scaffold continued to the upper roof level for establishment of lift shaft, masonry and high-level structures.

Block F – The school’s Food and Hospitality Centre is coming along nicely, with Perimeter block walls erected to full height and ground slabs poured between each wall. Structural steel has followed, with the formation of a skillion roof to link up to the existing Canteen Building.

Block D – The new Art and Design Centre has seen the concrete structure emerge out of the ground, with concrete columns formed and masonry walls complete up to Level 1. The ground slabs have been formed, prepped and poured, allowing formwork to be erected for Level 1 deck.

Block G – The soon to be Senior STEM Centre has finished off ground works with inground services and detailed excavation complete for substructure. Ground slab has been prepped and poured, formwork and scaffold frames erected, and Level 1 deck formed. Steel reinforcing and post tension cables were setout across the deck and suspended concrete slab poured. The building will soon raise up its structure ready for the roof, with concrete columns erected and core-filled masonry to walls and lift shaft.

Block M3 – The new Amenities Building to the sports precinct is in full swing. Building earthworks have been completed and inground services installed, involving a redirection of the School’s existing sewer main around the new building.
