Resident involvement key to creating a welcoming environment

Meeting monthly since October 2019, both residents and staff of Lutheran Services, Salem have played a pivotal role in ensuring their future residence is one they can truly call home.

Late last year residents and staff were invited to nominate for the committee and a selection process occurred within the facility.  Through debate and discussion, the committee have progressively selected not only the overall look and feel of the refurbishments (1970’s) but also the details of tiles and colour selection for bedrooms and communal living spaces.  Richard (pictured above) has been very excited to be able to significantly influence the interior of the new bar and games room.  The committee have reported back to respective resident and staff meetings ensuring that all who live and work in the building have had the opportunity for consultation on this project.

With construction underway we are close to completion of the selection process and look forward to seeing the unveiling of the finished product.
