Situated in the heart of the iconic Caxton St, one of Brisbane’s most beloved pubs recently underwent a refurbishment to replace the tired yellows & oranges that saturated the current space.

Paynters specialist Interior Design Manager was introduced to the Hotels’ charm & produced a result that publican Ross Farquhar calls refreshing & inspiring.

“What was important to us was minimal disruption. What Paynters said they were going to deliver, they did, every time, and that’s important to not only me but our operations” said Mr Farquhar.

Drawing upon the original features of the building our Interiors team managed to create a vibrant, welcoming space that included the refurbishment of the existing restaurant & cauldron bar, timber cladding, a lick of paint and renovated amenities on the ground floor. The most intriguing feature of all would be the sporting memorabilia that wraps the cauldron bar, tying in the location and connection to local favourite, Suncorp Stadium.

Mr Farquhar also commented on the fantastic relationship he’s had with Paynters over the years, having completed 6 projects with the Company. He has also known Business Development Manager Mark Shulman for over 30 years now and speaks very highly of Mark. “It’s nice to have someone that we’ve known for so long {Mark Shulman}” “He’s our go to guy!” said Mr Farquhar.

“Being an older Hotel, there are always things we come across that need fixing and Paynters were more than happy to accommodate that during construction.”

Articulated by timber features and eye-catching brick cladding, the Hotel will enter 2019 with confidence, eager to showcase it’s new look & charm! With exciting prospects ahead for its clientele, the new and improved Cacko! will continue to be one of Brisbane’s most celebrated venues.
