The next generation of young apprentices were given the opportunity to try their hand at various construction activities as part of a Try-A-Trade Day hosted on site at the Broadbeach Community Precinct project, currently being delivered by Paynters on behalf of the City of Gold Coast.

Teaming up with industry training advocates from Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) and Tafe Queensland, the event played host to 30 enthusiastic grade 9 students from Miami State High School who are currently considering a career in construction.

The day was a roaring success, with the students gaining practical experience in block laying, plumbing and cabinetry, whilst also receiving a tour of the construction works currently being undertaken at the precinct.

This community engagement initiative was incredibly well received by the school, with this platform serving as a stepping stone for students who may be considering school-based apprenticeships.
