The Pimlico TAFE redevelopment project in Townsville has revitalised the heart of the campus, with Paynters constructing the first new building at the facility in more than 40 years.

The completion of this building ensures that Pimlico TAFE will become the north’s specialised non-trade training centre for nursing, hair & beauty and hospitality.

The TAFE features state-of-the-art training kitchens, restaurants, a simulated nursing ward, hairdressing and beauty salons. It also incorporates a learning hub to promote collaboration amongst the 900+ students set to enter the new facility. It will also offer students vibrant and engaging general purpose learning spaces and computer laboratories, which are available for corporate use.

The upgrade is part of TAFE’s ongoing commitment to support economic growth and stability in the Townsville region.

Paynters are incredibly proud of this project, not only for the exciting community development but also for achieving well beyond expected training hours projected for the job. Paynters achieved over 20,000 training hours (when the commitment was 12,812), with 12,000 of those hours being new Apprentice training hours. An impressive achievement for our team in Townsville!
