The Paynters Central Queensland team were commissioned to delivered the latest infrastructure upgrade at Gladstone State High School. The project involved the demolition of two tennis courts and site clearing for the construction of a new two story GLA Classroom Bock. Two new tennis courts were also constructed in conjunction with the GLA building, and extensive external landscaping was undergone to complete the project.

Paynters navigated the logistical challenges of shared access to the site via the main driveway. This area was also used for the bus drop off and collection area for the entire school community, with a current capacity of 1600 students. Frequent consultation between Paynters, the Client Project Manager and the School Community was required during the course of the project. This ensured the safety of both staff and students, and allowed for minimal disruption to the school’s daily operations. Special consideration to work activities was required throughout the programme, with meticulous planning for major concrete pours and crane lifts managed in conjunction with the school’s business service manager.

The Paynters team maintained a great working relationship with all stakeholders throughout the life of the project, delivering a state of the art addition to the Gladstone State High School community. The new buildings and sporting facilities were completed in time for the 2018 school year.
