Mercedes-Benz Commercial precinct was severely affected by the 2011 Brisbane floods. In managing the damage to their offices, showrooms, sales areas and workshops, they were keen for insurance repairs and refurbishments to take place as quickly as possible, while ensuring the continuation of their business as a main concern.

With this in mind, Paynters used a staged refurbishment enabling them to prioritise their business operations with the renovations causing minimal disruption to their everyday procedures. Stage 1 saw the prioritisation of getting the workshop and serving area functional and in full operation again. This was done quickly and on budget. Stage 2 saw the redesign of the office space to suit current requirements, including the addition of several offices and open planned seating for sales staff and office staff alike.

It also included the refurbishment of the showroom with the addition of a new sleek circular reception area, polishing of the terrazzo flooring and bright contemporary fixtures and fittings, giving the room a classy and modern feel. The amenities were also upgraded to comply with all requirements and an elevator was incorporated due to the increased floor space. Finally, Stage 3 saw the restoration of the major workshop back to its original standards. Having the design and construct responsibilities ensured Paynters could encompass code upgrades to all relevant areas. With the staged planning, the quality finish and minimal disruption to the continuing work throughout the renovation, the client was delighted with the outcome and looks forward to working with Paynters in the future.
