Aged Care & Supported Living

This project was delivered as part of a staged redevelopment of the Mutkin site in the Aboriginal community of Yarrabah, Far North Queensland. Paynters were tasked with the design and delivery of the Stage 2 works, which involved a new 10-bed residential aged care building.

Paynters also delivered a comprehensive FF&E offering, led by our in-house Interior Design team. The interiors were inspired by the surrounding landscape, utilizing vibrant greens and blues that represent the emersion of landscapes (land meets ocean). The team also integrated Indigenous designs from local artists into various fabrics and décor.

The works were delivered via meticulous staging plan which allowed the facility to remain fully operational. The overall layout and design of the project was shaped in close consultation with the Mutkin Board as well as other community members including council representatives and local Elders. The Paynters team led a truly collaborative project outcome to ensure that the facility met the cultural considerations of the community.
