Paynters were engaged by Building Asset Services in early 2016 to Design & Construct the new NRL Cowboys House in Townsville.

The facility houses 50 Indigenous students from remote areas of North Queensland while they attend High School and incorporates single and double shared rooms, a Junior and Senior learning centre, outdoor learning and covered walkways.

Completed in late 2016, Paynters are incredibly proud of this state-of-the-art facility that provides a practical yet inviting home for students across Townsville and surrounding areas. The young individuals have been provided with the opportunity at a better education, allowing them to enter the workforce with the necessary skills to achieve greatness.

Paynters is continuing to work with the NRL Cowboys charity arm, the NRL Cowboys Foundation in order to provide trade training opportunities as part of the 200 strong construction team. NRL Cowboys House began accommodating students at the start of the 2017 school year, providing life changing opportunities for some of the most disadvantaged young people in the country. “Friends of the House” is both a fundraising strategy and a means for engaging the community with the facility as it grows and develops.
