Prins Willem Alexander, Netherlands Retirement Village – Stage 1

This recently completed project is an extension to an existing large aged care facility and retirement village. A strong working relationship established between Paynters and the Netherlands Retirement Village over a number of years resulted the alignment of development planning and strategic business planning with the client’s vision to provide a home that integrates both Dutch and Australian cultures. The development includes 93 residential aged care bedrooms with ensuites over three levels, as well as stunning living and dining areas that incorporate Dutch themes and artwork. Smaller living areas and quiet nooks provide an opportunity for privacy for residents and visiting families, whilst spacious open veranda’s with a view of the lovely gardens or the Village entrance, allow residents a choice of vistas. Careful design to minimise intrusion of staff support ‘back of house’ areas combined with elements such as charming fireplaces and beautiful joinery create a warming, comfortable environment reminiscent of home. Thoughtful attention to detail and colour has been implemented in finishes and furniture selection, contributing to the overall positive ambiance and uniquely Dutch ‘feel’ of this facility.
