A one of a kind project, Brisbane’s historic Red Brick Hotel in Woolloongabba was redeveloped by Paynters Hospitality team.

Working alongside our client, the Hakfoort Group, Paynters were given the task of restoring the charm and heritage of this celebrated pub through an end-to-end design and construct delivery, and the result speaks for itself.

The project involved the design and construction of major internal renovations which included a complete removal of the upper mezzanine floor structure, relocation and restoration of the dining and gaming lounges, refurbishment of amenities and extensive external finishes.

A key part of the design direction was stripping back the paint and render off the external and internal walls of the building, revealing the original ‘red’ bricks. The dining area was relocated back to the heritage part of the hotel, showcasing the stunning interior features that were previously hidden, and redefining the Red Brick’s dining experience. Paynters are incredibly proud to have played a key role in the transformation of this iconic venue.

DID YOU KNOW… The Hotel doesn’t get its name from the colour of the brick, as one would assume, but rather the red 10 pound notes (bricks) that were used by bookies when settling bets at the bar.
