The development is located on a busy road in Townsville with two street frontages. The master plan developed by Paynters allows the development to be managed as one complex but allows for possible future subdivision of the site to create two smaller developments with their own street frontage addresses.
Specialist acoustic requirements have been incorporated into the design. 45 studio units have been included, with 3 of the units initially amalgamated and fitted out as administration offices for the managing community organisation and another 2 to initially be utilised as a shared lounge for residents.
The Department of Housing and Public Works and Building and Asset Services have been working closely with Paynters since late 2014 to develop the Supported Accommodation Facilities under a Managing Contract form of agreement that involved Paynters providing all of the normal Design and Construct Services and additionally providing Feasibility Studies and milestone reports, presentations and stakeholder meetings.
