Aged Care & Supported Living

This project exemplifies how Paynters works within an ECI delivering system and has achieved excellent outcomes for all involved. The project involves the construction of a new 96 bed RAC facility on a Greenfields site located in Townsville.

The project was originally fully documented by an external architect engaged by Carinity and was tendered as a lump sum contract. The project proceeded to be built. However, the contractor went into administration when the facility was 60 percent complete.

An Independent Project Manager had been engaged by Carinity at the commencement of the project (design and construction). Paynters were concurrently engaged by Carinity on a number of other projects at the time that the Fairfield Grange Contractor went into administration and were approached by Carinity to take over the project and complete construction.

Paynters were able to re-specify and simplify the Joinery finishes and detailing which was originally complex and would have been costly and difficult to build. This has resulted in savings that were used by the client to upgrade feature areas within the new RAC. The client at the time of Paynters engagement had many unresolved design and detailing features which we were able to manage on their behalf in conjunction with the client’s Project Manager.

Paynters has worked collaboratively with the Client, Client Project Manager (Project Partnership) and Design Consultants to manage a difficult situation and achieve a very functional facility for this client.
